"SHIATSU" meaning Finger pressure
Shoshin Shiatsu "Beginners Mind" owes it origin to the very roots of traditional acupressure, Zen and Thai style bodywork. Based on the awareness of the classic energy flows or meridians of the body, the emotional attributes of the spirit, and the influences of our external environment, this healing art provides pause and opportunity to calm the mind and heal the body.
Using fingers, palms, forearm, knee, and foot compression along with stretching and focused breathing we follow the flow of meridians ( energy lines ) along the body that correlate with specific organs to help free blockages of energy and relieve pain. This technique is done on a padded system on the floor while the client is in loose fitting clothes.
